Nigel is a director of four companies, two in business & defence consultancy, two in film production. Now Visiting Professor at Sheffield Hallam University, he has worked on drama theory and its game-theoretic precursors since the 60s, when his early work in metagame theory was applied to the first SALT agreement, nuclear proliferation and Vietnam in work for the US Arms Control and Disarmament Agency and the State Department. His clients have included several other governments & numerous large corporations; with all of them he has done applied work on the frontiers of game theory &, latterly, drama theory. He has taught at the London School of Economics, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania & the universities of Waterloo & Ottawa in Canada & Aston in the UK. Since 1997, in work for the Pentagon, the MoD & NATO, he has worked out a drama-theoretic approach to modern war with a focus on peace-keeping, post-conflict stabilization & counter-insurgency operations. He has led the development of Drama Theory since its beginning in 1992.
